Addressed to Shanghai No. 81 January 31st.
Canton telegram No. 9 to the Foreign Office.
I should be glad to learn in due course any
details of Imperial Airways' arrangements with Chinese
Government mentioned in your telegram No. 1755 to the Foreign Office. In particular have matters reached stage
where there is any question of notifying Japanese
authorities either in Tokyo or locally of dates and routes of flights in order that "accidents" may be avoided:
seems probable that flights will pass through area
specified in Japanese note enclosed in my despatch No.
894 of November 9th to the Foreign Office.
It
I understand that Imperial Airways arranged
I should last October twice weekly schedule to Hongkong.
like for purposes of record to put in notification amplifying letter to Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs
For enclosed in my despatch No. 120 of March 7th 1938. this purpose I should be grateful if Hongkong could give
me details of revised time table and could also inform me
whether these details have been given officially to local
Japanese authorities.
Repeated to the Foreign Office No. 94, Hongkong
No.16 and Canton No.6. Hongkong please pass to Commander-
in-Chief as my telegram No. 10.
